Bayern Munich celebrated their 22nd Bundesliga title with victory
over relegated Hertha Berlin at the Olympiastadion.
Ivica Olic put the Bavarians ahead in the 20th minute, but Adrian
Ramos brought the home side level in the 59th.
Arjen Robben restored Bayern's lead in the 74th minute before adding
the third in the 87th minute and the celebrations commenced as the
Bavarians got their hands on the Bundesliga title and Berlin waved
goodbye to the top flight in a mixture of tears of joy and sadness.
Bayern coach Louis van Gaal chose his strongest team with Robben
and Franck Ribery on the wings and Olic in his attack, leaving Germany
internationals Miroslav Klose and Mario Gomez on the bench and making
it clear he was taking this game as seriously as any other.
Nevertheless, it was also quite evident that his players did not
want to take any risks in view of next week's DFB-Pokal and the
Champions League final seven days later. |
