Inter Milan and Juventus took a point each from the Derby d'Italia
at the San Siro tonight with a goalless draw.
Both sides clearly wanted to win the game and chances were aplenty,
but the goals column remained empty, despite the two sides' efforts.
The point lifts Inter back into second place while Juve move up
to seventh, still just three points behind the Nerazzurri.
Milos Krasic was Juve's match-winner with a hat-trick against Cagliari
last weekend and he was their most productive outlet again tonight.
In the 22nd minute, he cut in from the right and shot towards the
far corner, forcing Julio Cesar to make a diving save which almost
fell for Vincenzo Iaquinta two yards out.
Krasic did find Iaquinta in the very same position just in front
of the goal 10 minutes later, but the Juve striker had just strayed
offside and his simple tap-in did not count.
Diego Milito had Inter's best chance of the first half, but he
was unable to divert the ball inside the post as he met Samuel Eto'o's
long cross on the stretch at the far post.
