Daniel Sturridge enhanced his growing reputation by helping Chelsea
secure a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Deepdale.
The former Manchester City striker scored his third goal for the
club and repeatedly kept Preston's defence on their toes.
Sturridge's strike in the 47th minute effectively killed off the
tie in what was Darren Ferguson's first home match as manager.
Ferguson will no doubt look back on a chance that changed the face
of the game.
